1. APPLIANCE NOT LEVEL
If your freezer or refrigerator unit is constantly vibrating, it may not be level with the ground. Your appliance’s leveling feet or screws may have simply come loose over time. Inspect the bottom of the appliance and adjust the feet or tighten the screws as needed.
2. DIRTY CONDENSER COILS
Condenser coils that are clogged with dust and dirt can block proper airflow. This means your freezer has to work harder to cool the appliance, potentially increasing the frequency or volume of noises as a result. To help ensure your appliance is performing efficiently, clean the condenser coils every few months using a refrigerator coil brush or a vacuum hose with a soft brush head.
3. FAULTY EVAPORATOR FAN
Your freezer’s evaporator fan helps keep your appliance cool by circulating air and ventilating the evaporator coils. If the evaporator fan is damaged or worn-out, however, unusually loud clicking, buzzing, or humming sounds may arise. In addition, you might notice that your freezer is warmer than usual. A faulty evaporator fan will need to be repaired or replaced.
